In 1979, she refused to choose.

1979. Martine Mahé is a hairdresser, and allergic to hair dye.

Faced with this impossible choice (quit her job or continue to damage herself), she refuses to choose. She invents a dye that no longer causes irritation: no henna, no ammonia, no resorcinol, no PPD, no hydrogen peroxide.

47 years later, her conviction hasn't wavered. The product is still here.
